Former Miss Malibu Tami Farrell was just crowned Miss California after Carrie Prejean was stripped of her title today. The former Miss Teen USA was runner-up to Prejean in the Miss California competition, and thus holds the new crown.

Born and raised in Oregon, Farrell moved to Los Angeles a few years ago to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. In 2008 she ended up winning Miss Malibu and continued to compete until losing to Prejean. Although reasons are still unclear as to why Prejean was stripped of the crown, the company who puts on the pagaent said she was in “breach of contract,” for one reason or another.
